Tanith is a yoga teacher and content creator @by.tanith and inspires over 70,000 people on Instagram on the topics of mindfulness and journaling. For years she has been sharing her tips on how everyone can use journaling, i.e. writing down thoughts, for themselves and how the technology can be integrated into everyday life - even in more stressful phases. Tanith talks about self-reflection and mindfulness on Instagram and we are so grateful to have her in our Spirit of Eden Family. 🤍
Some time ago, Tanith launched a project close to her heart: a self-illustrated card set with mindfulness prompts that feel like a hug: "a hug on a card" . In keeping with this, we asked Tanith a few questions about positive affirmations. In an interview, Tanith tells us how using affirmations helps her in everyday life.
Spirit of Eden:How did you first come into contact with the use of affirmations or beliefs?
I worked a lot on the topic of yoga, reflection and journaling and through this I found access to the topic of beliefs many years ago - and noticed that I was carrying some of them around with me. Since then, I have been actively working - especially through journaling and meditation - on the beliefs that I would like to change.
Spirit of Eden: In what form did you feel a change? Do you regularly notice changes through positive affirmations?
Above all, I have noticed that I notice negative beliefs much more quickly when they creep into my thoughts and actions. I perceive them and can actively influence my thoughts and actions. Of course, this doesn't always work, but it has gotten much better over the years.
Spirit of Eden:How do you incorporate positive affirmations into your routines?
I like to write down affirmative thoughts in my journal. Journaling is something that has accompanied me for many years and even if I don't do it every day, it is a tool that I use regularly and several times a week.
Spirit of Eden:How do you talk about this with those around you?
I think it's a topic that everyone has to find their own approach to, so I just like to share my own thoughts on it - sometimes on my Instagram account @by.tanith.
Spirit of Eden:Would you like to share your favorite affirmations with us? :)
Sure - that's not an I-affirmation but I love it anyway: "Direction is more important than speed."
By the way, this is what Tanith's "hugs on a card" look like - maybe there's one for you too? The card set is currently sold out, but supplies will be available.
Thanks for your time and answers, Tanith! We look forward to all new inspiration from you. :)
