Handmade in Deutschland, was bedeutet das eigentlich?

Handmade in Germany, what does that actually mean?

We are firmly convinced that you can feel from what material and under what conditions an object was made. That is why we consistently produce our jewelry in Germany.

Three points are particularly close to our hearts:

1. How we produce your jewelry
2. What raw materials we use
3. How a piece of jewelry is allowed to change when it accompanies you for a while.

Where does our jewelry come from?

It all started with our mala necklaces. They are traditionally knotted by hand in our studio in Leipzig and represent for us the expression of a mindful lifestyle: A necklace, two hands, and a lot of time and energy.

Over time, the desire arose to design small reminders made of silver and gold that you can truly wear all the time. A piece of jewelry that subtly reminds you of your personal intention and can accompany you throughout your daily life.

Here too, we wanted to find a way for the jewelry to be handcrafted in Germany, according to our specifications and under fair conditions. After a long search, we found a family business in southern Germany that shares our values and with which we are in close, personal contact.

We are totally happy to know how our jewelry is created and to have a team of yoga teachers, artists, and craftsmen who create your piece of jewelry with all the love and energy it deserves.

Our materials: What we use and why

Many considerations have gone into our gold and silver jewelry, but it was important to us from the very beginning to choose materials that can accompany you for a very long time, but that are also allowed to change, just like you.

Our base is always recycled sterling silver.
No stainless steel, no brass, no zinc under a thin layer of paint. Sterling silver is a precious metal: durable, body-compatible, and one of the few materials that changes over the years (and is allowed to do so).

Most of our pieces are gold-plated with a layer of 18K real gold to give the jewelry warmth and color. It not only looks more beautiful than stainless steel, it feels different too: significantly more detailed, vibrant, and real.

Your jewelry changes, and that is allowed

We want to be honest with you: Gold-plated jewelry that accompanies you every day changes over time. Over time, your piece of jewelry will lighten a bit as the gold layer on the silver becomes thinner. Stainless steel jewelry does not do this, that is true. And some people want exactly that: a piece that always looks the same.

We see it a bit differently. Have you ever heard of Wabi-Sabi?

Wabi-Sabi is based on a Japanese philosophy and describes the concept that imperfection and change are not flaws, but beauty. An object that bears traces tells a story, your story. It shows that it has truly been lived.

A piece of jewelry that you wear every day, that you touch when you think of your intention, that goes through moments with you — this piece is allowed to bear traces of that. It becomes more personal and shows its own story.

The right care: A small care guide

To keep your jewelry beautiful for a long time and to allow it to change gently, we have put together a few small tips for you.

Wear your piece of jewelry daily, but carefully. Gold-plated jewelry loves to be worn, but it does not like to be in constant contact with fragrances, creams, or sweat. Take off your jewelry before exercising or going into saltwater.

Store lovingly. Best in the small jewelry pouch that you receive with your piece of jewelry.

Clean your jewelry gently. A soft, dry cloth is usually enough. No ultrasonic cleaning, no aggressive cleaners. :)

Let it breathe. Sometimes it is enough to just take it off and not wear it every night. This also protects the surface.

If you notice that the gold plating is showing through in one spot: That is normal and not a defect. If you wish, you can send your piece to our re-gilding service. Please feel free to contact our customer service about this.

What really matters to us

We believe that a piece of jewelry can be a small, quiet tool, a reminder of what is important to you, made visible on your body.

This works particularly well with a piece that has been consciously made, with real materials, by real people — and that you consciously choose because it fits your intention and becomes part of your daily life.

We are so grateful, after many years, to also be able to repair or re-gild pieces of jewelry, because each piece carries its own traces. If you have questions about a specific piece, about care, or about our materials, just write us an email and we will respond personally. :)
